About Me
The journey of Running Wild Pottery began with a simple evening course, a spark that ignited a passion.
2019 was the turning point, the moment when the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. I discovered a deep connection with clay, a medium that allowed me to express my creativity in a visible and physical way. After years of trying various art courses around the demands of a full-time job, I finally found 'the one'.
The next few years were a blur of learning, testing, playing, failing and laughing alot! I played with various techniques, from throwing on the wheel, hand building to mould making and slip casting. Each success, no matter how small, fuelled my enthusiasm. And each failure taught me more than I expected, making me more determined to succeed and more curious.
My plans for Running Wild Pottery are to make it more than 'just a job'. I want to build a space where creativity can flourish, a place where people can explore their artistic potential. Everyone possesses a unique creative spark and I want to provide opportunities for others to find theirs again.
Over the next few months I'm planning to expand my studio into a vibrant workshop space, allowing me to share my knowledge and passion with others. I'm eager to showcase my work at more events and exhibitions, connecting with artists, enthusiasts and potential customers.
As I continue to grow as an artist I remain committed to supporting and building a local creative community by collaborating with other artists, makers and organizations.
Beyond the aesthetic appeal, I strive to create functional pieces that enhance daily life. Whether it's a beautifully crafted mug or a sculptural vase, I aim to elevate the ordinary. Each piece of work has a story behind it, a reflection of my experiences and inspirations. I want my customers to feel a personal connection with my work, to see a piece of themselves in the unique design.
While my ultimate goal is to transition into a full-time ceramic artist, I understand it's a gradual process. I'm committed to developing my creativity muscle and slowly tipping the scales into following my passion and dream.
Together, we can inspire and uplift one another, creating a more creative, colourful and artistic world.
